TPE performance characteristics: TPE - thermoplastic elastomer is a new material with high elasticity, high strength and high resilience of rubber. TPE material has soft touch, good weather resistance and no plasticizer. It is an environmentally friendly and non-toxic material with a price of about 2-50,000/ton. It is widely used in daily necessities in contact with human body. Because TPE waste can be recycled by 100%, cost saving, easy production and processing, without vulcanization, the general thermoplastic molding machine can be processed, processing methods include injection, extrusion, blow molding, calendering and so on.
Hardness range is wide, in the range of 0 - 120A, it can be coated with PP, PE, PC, PS, ABS, nylon and other plastic materials, and can also be formed separately. TPE is more resistant to high and low temperatures and has better elasticity than PVC. It meets the environmental protection standard directives of Rohs, PAHS, 12P, DIN53160, EN71-3, PFOS, FDA, REACH and so on.
TPE and PVC are both soft plastics, which can be identified by naked eye observation and hand feeling, and also by burning materials.
1. Look at the color of the flame. The flame root shows that the green is PVC and the blue is TPE.
2. Ask about the odor after burning. TPE has a fragrant smell after burning, which is not very bad. The burning of PVC smells of chlorine and stinks.
3. Look at the level of flame retardant, do not add flame retardant materials. TPE flame retardant level is UL94-HB. It burns in case of fire and does not extinguish after off-fire. The flame retardant grade of PVC is UL94-V2. It has self-extinguishing property. It ignites and burns. When the ignition source is withdrawn, the flame will generally extinguish.
